Palm Springs Wedding at Merv Griffin Estate

on

Set against the Santa Rosa Mountains, the Merv Griffin Estate near Palm Springs, California, was just the place for Taylor and Derek’s bohemian, yet glamorous wedding. The destination wedding was truly unforgettable with its all-white color palette and clever mixes of pink and green foliage. It was a DIY day that did not disappoint.

With such a spectacular location, the first place to put a personalized touch was the invitation suite. Taylor commissioned a local resource to hand-paint maps for the invitations. Green envelopes were lined with various pieces of colorful paper and the entire collection was customized for their event.

Taylor’s bridesmaids were by her side as she got ready for her special day.

Initially having no idea what kind of gown she wanted, she found the perfect style in a high-low silhouette, and with the help of a seamstress and a great dress with an open back, she achieved the perfect look. She accessorized with gorgeous statement jewelry so she shined from head to toe.

The florals for their big day were inspired by the couple’s photographer. The assorted arrangements featured green, fuschia, white, and even a touch of blue – the perfect punch of color for their all-white theme.

Derek and his groomsmen kept their looks laid back and stylish with the help of dark gray pants, and green and blue bow ties. The groom stood out by wearing a dark gray jacket.

Under the radiant California sunshine, Taylor was escorted down the steps to her groom, awaiting underneath the gazebo. In front of their small gathering of family and friends, they said “I do.”

After the ceremony, they roamed the gorgeous property for photos, never short on colorful and unique spots.

Bright-hued shutters, cool shade, and numerous palm trees captured the illustrious Palm Springs setting. They basked in the botanical gardens of the estate.

The couple found themselves in a greenhouse surrounded by cactus, which was a unique and unexpected surprise.

The tablescape for their celebration was also created by the bride’s interior designer mother. All of the details, like crystals and driftwood, were carefully picked out and placed with love.

The couple knew from the start that they loved the geode wedding cake trend but were skeptical of how to tie it in to their theme. With the help of a talented cake artist, they incorporated actual geode pieces into their dessert for a breathtaking finished product.
