From Kelly Marie Photography – “Over a year ago, the idea came to me to incorporate origami and paper elements into a shoot. This spring, my vision came to life with the help of amazing vendors and two wonderful friends with an origami themed wedding theme!”
From Kelly Marie Photography – “With many brides incorporating DIY elements into their special day, origami seemed to be a great way to have decorative elements done beforehand. While origami pieces can come across playful, I wanted to emphasize the elegant qualities and clean lines.
Folded lilies made up several flower arrangements in fun and fresh yellows and deep oranges. A lily also adorned each place setting while folded fortune tellers held place cards. I loved including these ‘cootie catchers’ from my childhood in a subtle yet prominent manner!”
“It is said that 1000 paper cranes on your wedding day will give the couple 1000 years of good luck. Aware of this tradition, Brandon presented Mandy with a paper crane early in their relationship. Since then, paper cranes have held a special meaning to this couple.
I chose to spread paper cranes throughout the scenes, hanging them in the dessert display as well as from the tree above the gin and tonic station. The gin and tonic station directly correlated to my couple. As a surprise to Brandon, a gin lover, Mandy and I collaborated in the creation of the station, including the, ‘You are the gin to my tonic’ sign!”
