Japanese Wedding Inspiration.
We use words to express our feelings. In the Japanese culture, poetry called “Tanka,” which dates back 1,200 years, is a practice in which brief poems are written with only 31 characters. And while the measures are short, the words are powerful.
That’s the inspiration behind this styled shoot and it shows how two cultures can fuse together to create one incredible experience.
The invitation suite features stark white parchment and delicate handwritten script that is utterly divine.
A gorgeous bride with bright red lips dons a stunning blue kimono with a sunny yellow sash.
The groom wears a classic black suit and black tie and joins the bride in her traditional Japanese attire.
A celebratory table is set with a sleek design in mind. A white linen is covered with white china place settings, along with tall white taper candles and an understated centerpiece. Modern folding chairs offer a touch of originality to the space.
Handwritten paper pieces are seen throughout the presentation. At each place setting is small flower and a Japanese note to tie in the chief source of inspiration. Escort cards are carefully written and displayed in the most gentle of fashions.
She steps into a strapless sweetheart gown with a dramatic floral-inspired bodice and blush tulle skirt. She also lets her hair fall down past her shoulders.
This styled shoot shows that if you have the right words in your heart, you can create something truly special. You can honor two different cultures, and even two different time periods, while still producing a wedding day that speaks to who you are right at this exact moment.
