Las Vegas is the party capital of the world. From the incredible casinos to the world-class music entertainment and nightlife, going to Vegas and not having fun is nigh on impossible. Getting married is extremely easy too, with the couple requiring a marriage licence (that costs a lucky $ 77 to obtain from the marriage licence office in the city centre) before they can get hitched at the venue of their choice. A copy of the certificate costs an additional $ 15, keeping costs low and allowing couples to spend more on their venue or at the tables.
Fun themes and unique experiences
Las Vegas wedding chapels are pretty unique, in that they are often themed to provide a different experience to their competitors. One of the most popular chapels in the city that offers guests the opportunity to see Mr Las Vegas himself is the Elvis Wedding Chapel on Las Vegas Boulevard. Your special ceremony is topped off with a performance by a professional Elvis impersonator, before an optional photo with the King to remember your special day.
If you’re feel a bit more adventurous, then a wedding ceremony at the Grand Canyon may be the answer for thrill seekers. Sundance Helicopters offer a package starting at £2,200 which whisks the happy couple out into the desert before hovering above an incredible viewpoint several thousand feet above the canyon floor. The wedding is especially intimate, with enough space for the minister, the couple, a maximum of two guests and of course the pilot, allowing newly weds to avoid inviting those unwanted family members along to their ceremony.
A ‘traditional’ Vegas wedding
For the gamblers out there, many casinos will naturally provide a wedding ceremony, with casinos like the Bellagio having several chapels and events rooms dedicated to weddings. In fact, the Bellagio offers numerous specialised ceremonies, with Champagne, buffet, a stay in a suite and even credit to be used in the casino afterwards. If you fancy tying the knot in a casino, it may make sense to get some practice in before you hit the tables after the main event.
