If there’s one thing I hate, it’s having huge pores on my face (that morph into gigantic craters every time I look into a magnifying mirror!) Texture wise, it has a very lightweight lotion formula that absorbs instantly, leaving a smooth matte finish. It has a light floral-y scent that doesn’t linger or bother me.
Stricvectin recommends using this product as the last step in your AM and PM skincare routine and that’s what I have been doing for the last 2-3 weeks. Since this product contains retinol, I would have used it only in my night routine if it was summertime (as retinol doesn’t play nice with the sun!) but now that it’s all cloudy and gloomy here in Oregon, I really don’t mind using it twice a day. In any case, it’s very important to use broad spectrum SPF 30 or more during the day especailly when using a retinol skincare product.
While Retinol can often irritate skin, I am happy to report that I did not experience any irritation or peeling/flaking issues after using the StriVectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner. No breakouts either which is always a big plus! As for the results, there hasn’t been a dramatic difference in the size of my pores but I have definitely noticed an improvement in these few weeks as my pores look tighter, more refined and not-so-prominently-huge.
Overall, I really like StriVectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner and recommend trying this product if you have large pores that need major refinement. With its gentle retinol formulation, this is also a great anti-aging moisturizer that works to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and sun damage for a smooth, even complexion. And for those of you with oily skin, the instant mattifying effect would be a good thing as well!
