Heard of a elegance brand called Misslyn?
No? Me neither. But I am told it is quite popular in Europe, having launched 30 years ago in Italy, then France and Germany. And now Misslyn has landed in Canada, offered solely offered at everyone’;s favourite pharmacy, Buyers Drug Mart.
I’;m constantly up for discovering new lines, so when I had the opportunity to test out a couple of of their nail polishes, I was SO down. I have to admit, the packaging is actually underwhelming, which may possibly be why I hadn’;t noticed them ahead of (they arrived in merchants in December).
You get 13 mL in every bottle, compared to the OPI and CND standard of 15 mL, and Essie’;s 13.5 mL. But… the value is proper, given that these retail for just $ 10 a pop. Plus, there are 48 distinct colors to decide on from. (They really have the largest polish assortment in Europe, with more than 150 colors accessible in excess of there!)
Let us see if Misslyn passed my swatch exams:
Red Carpet 180

I have to admit, I absolutely judged a guide by its cover with these Misslyn polishes. Not knowing a lot about them, I was expecting less-than-stellar overall performance, but the first shade I experimented with, Red Carpet 180, actually delivered. It is amazingly opaque, which is anything I always have difficulties with in reds. I could get away with 1 very good coat if I wanted to, but pictured right here is two. Super-impressed!
Urban Chic 223

I was a minor less in love with Urban Chic 223. The plum-red colour is truly nice, but I wanted it to be just a small far more opaque. Pictured is two coats and I discover it’;s just a teeny bit streaky, but that could be the picky polish freak in me talking.
Blush 155

Yes, yet another killer red! Blush 155 is much more orange-toned than Red Carpet 180, but I really like it just as considerably. Once again, it truly is crazy-opaque, which I am SO satisfied about. The application was genuinely wonderful. I am loving these!
Magma 195

I wasn’;t excited about Magma 195 in the bottle, but I fell in love with it on the nails. Although it really is not my cup of tea for this time of the yr (it’;s providing me major holiday vibes), I’;m quite into the shimmer. Yet again, the application was excellent and if I truly needed to, I could get away with 1 coat. Why have I in no way tried these prior to?!
The Bottom Line
Misslyn has me impressed, you guys, and I wasn’;t expecting it! I can not speak to the whole Canadian line of 48 shades, but genuinely I loved 3 out of the 4 I tried—so which is quite promising. Yay for new polish finds!
