5 Fall Beauty Hacks You Need in Your Life!

Fall is in full swing and the new month ahead only means cooler weather to come! As the weather transitions from summer to fall, so does our wardrobe, our home décor, and our beauty routine. With the dipping temps outside, your beauty routine needs to be able to keep up with the changing season and noteworthy trends. As we welcome the season of crisp temperatures and cozy sweaters, here are my top 5 beauty tips that will help to keep your look perfectly on-trend through fall!

Stock up on moisturizing masks – While summer is all about sun protection and oil control, fall beauty regimen needs to focus on repairing the damage triggered by all that fun in the sun…your skin and hair needs some serious TLC! Get into recovery mode and pamper your parched, post-summer locks with plenty of moisture by using weekly deep conditioning masks and treatments. And to help your skin make a smooth transition from summer to fall, ditch your oil-absorbing, clay-based face masks for ultra-nourishing formulas that will take your complexion from drab to fab in no time!

Prep Lips for Bold Colors – The return of pumpkin spice latte also means it’s time to spice up your look! Fall beauty calls for a switch to rich, dark lipsticks in burgundy, maroon, and dark berry hues. But because these bold colors draw a lot of attention to your pout, make sure to exfoliate your lips with a DIY sugar scrub before you swipe a lip color on. Take the extra step — it’s worth it! Remember, flaky lips means flaky lipstick and that’s not pretty!

Brush your way to a whiter smile – Nothing grabs people’s attention like a radiant, pearly white smile! So if you’re looking for some extra whitening power this fall and beyond, the Colgate® Optic White® Toothbrush + Whitening Pen is a convenient (and affordable!) way to get 5 shades whiter teeth in 3 weeks, and it starts working in just one day. With the amount of tea and red wine I drink, when someone tells me I have “really white teeth”, I have to hand it to this one that has had my back for a few weeks now! It’s perfect for everyday use – no hassle, no mess!
Just brush as you normally would with your regular toothpaste. The Colgate® Optic White® toothbrush is specially designed with polishing bristles and stain removers to help remove surface teeth stains. Turn the dial at the bottom of the teeth whitening pen and apply gel. It takes only seconds to apply and there’s no waiting, no rinsing. Just brush, whiten and go!

Keep it matte but not flat – Matte makeup is all the rage this season, but with a twist! It’s all about getting an all-matte look without muting your natural glow by using foundations and powders that have a translucent finish. They’ll help you make a matte statement, without making your complexion look flat!

Care for your cuticles – Once fall/winter comes around, cold weather and frequent hand washing takes a toll on our hands & nails, and cuticles really bear the brunt of the abuse. Having dry, scraggly cuticles is obviously not a good look and may even make you want to pick them (I’m guilty of this!) A cuticle oil or cream is your first line of defense against dry, bedraggled hands.

Keep a tube of cuticle oil on your nightstand and use it religiously every night. I also like to keep one in my desk drawer so that I can slap some on anytime during the day. Even if you don’t have a cuticle oil available, you can use anything from your kitchen like olive oil, baby oil, or even Vaseline are quick go-to solutions. Consistent cuticle care really pays off and even helps to make your manicures last longer!

So, these are some of my beauty tips that will have you covered for sweater-weather! Do you have any fall beauty advice to share? I would love to hear from you in the comments!
