Just the other weekend I had the opportunity to check out LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort in Naples, Florida with my boyfriend and the place is just too darling not to share. You’d never expect it from the outside but the rooms are pure gems. Green walls, patterned pillows, 3 different lunge areas, a giant bed, chic details, and a whirlpool tub – it has a really fresh and luxurious vibe. With wine and chocolates delivered to our room and epic views of the beach and ocean I can truly say that we had one of the most unexpectedly relaxing and fun weekends ever.
Plus – we got to witness a wedding! The patio on our 11th floor room was right above LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort’s lawn and inviting fire pit areas so we got to see the entire reception take place, from a bird’s eye view. It was an obvious blast and the lawn area was perfection since it was just a few steps from the beach. Truly this represents the best of both worlds! Guests were heading out to the beach for epic sunset shots (see it here in the video we took on Instagram!), lingering, chatting, toasting the bride and groom, and then ambling back to the beautiful spread awaiting them. Chiavari chairs, delicious food, ambient lighting – it was a Florida wedding at its best.
We ended up sitting by the aforementioned fire pits one night and those were great. The other guests were quite friendly and LaPlaya had a great menu (try the truffle and parmesan fries!) which you could order poolside, beachside, or fireside. Speaking of pools, this property has 4 pools, which at first brings to mind some sort of mega resort, but mega resort this is not. While large, it wasn’t overwhelming and all of the staff members were encountered were very friendly.
On our last day there we spent the morning with our feet up on our patio, watching the ocean, birds, and activities on the beach, around noon we went down to the water where a chair and umbrella are set up at your request along with a flag which you can use to notify the staff if you’d like to order drinks or a meal after that we swam in two of the 4 pools and simply had a blast being together. LaPlaya is a charmer!
