From the photographer, Lynn Dunston – “With the saturation of whites and colors in today’s wedding industry, I wanted to step away from the norm and focus on the absence of color. This boudoir shoot was designed to highlight the soft and delicate side of black while keeping the feel of the shoot organic and authentic!”
“From the black gown and veil to the brown calligraphy ink, the color palette remained neutral and minimal. Soft charcoals of nude art were also incorporated into the shoot to add a creative element. With so many black details, I did not want to darken the feel of the shoot, but rather to find the perfect balance of light and dark.”
“With its brightly textured walls and sun-filled rooms, The Retreat at Cool Spring, a historic manor in Bluemont, VA, was the perfect setting to provide contrast to the dark details of the shoot. The intimate, restored manor has so many beautiful details and one-of-a-kind pieces, from the vintage chandeliers to the hand carved bed frame, that make it impossible not to fall in love with the venue.”
