I’m very found of this part of the Netherlands, it has a National Park and a few breathtaking spots worth to see and to spend romantic weekend together.
When I approached Country Estate Groot Warnsborn, the gorgeous venue of this editorial, they were really enthusiastic about the concept and the idea! The lake, visible on the pictures, is located in the forest and is not far away from the venue. It gave the team a lovely location to film the beautiful story. The surroundings, a February forest with its dark and grey colours, gave the images a little dramatic look.”
“Our white swan stood out from the dark background with her beautiful white dress. The winter weather gifted us with a few hours of sun that was gratefully captured in the imagery. The overall look and feel of this editorial combines the atmosphere, the concept and the surrounding in one!
We thought through every detail of this editorial from choosing the venue, to the cutlery, table setting and the floral designs. Our color palette for this swan lake wedding inspiration shoot was rose and blue with a touch of gold – so romantic!”
“The floral design of this editorial can be described as garden chic with a classic touch. We used a combination of roses, protea and eucalyptus to give the table setting the sweet table a fresh and natural look & feel. The origin of the flowers and the story behind the day has become more and more important to the clients these days so I choose beautiful and sustainably grown roses from Elgon Kenyan farms.
We choose to have one large centerpiece on the oval table. This centerpiece follows the curves of the oval table and became the eye catcher of the dinner setting. For the dessert table we choose to have a combination of wedding cake with sugar flowers and a cake with real flowers. It worked very well together! The colours of the flower arrangements and the cakes match with each other perfectly.”
From Laura van Rooij (wedding dress designer) – “It was quite a challenge to create the bridal gown for this editorial. I made two dresses for it: one for the Swan Lake scene and another, the royal flair one, for the wedding ceremony.
The first bridal gown was inspired by a ballet dress. It was fashioned from tulle, handmade silk flowers and sequins. The second gown is a royal, more delicate and chic dress. The low back of the second dress is shaped in the curve of a swan’s wing. Its bodice is sewn from gorgeous Japanese Mikado silk and the skirt was created from a delicate fabric heavily ornamented with ivory-colored flowers.”
