As quickly as I hear the description “intimate Outdated Hollywood Glamour,” I’m all in. Emily Chidester and The Bloom Closet were tasked with bringing Meaghan and Jimmy’s vision to daily life — a vision that included a gold sequin wedding dress, a bold tie for the groom, and lots of romantic tips for the reception. Obsessed.

From the bride, Meaghan: We decided to go for old Hollywood glamour on a very intimate scale. We each have really special style so we wanted to make positive it reflected who we were in all of the details. Our color scheme was black, white, and gold with touches of a deep red velvet and soft peachy pink. We produced all of the wine bottle centerpieces. My parents painted and developed the buffet to display all of the vintage tea cups we employed for our favors my dad produced tons of the black cake stands.

Bouquet recipe: Black dahlias, some roses and backyard roses.

Any suggestions for couples organizing their weddings now? Find a type that describes the two of you as a couple and have fun with it. Get inspiration from other peoples’ weddings, but do not be concerned if what you want is a minor different… make it personal. Bottom line… we loved our wedding ceremony since it was so US!

Wedding ceremony Music:
Processional: “Turning Page,” Sleeping at Last
Recessional: “When I’m With You,” Ben Rector
1st Dance: “Until You,” Dave Barnes
Father/Daughter Dance: “I Will Constantly Adore You,” Dolly Parton (& I shocked my dad with a unique recording of me singing You Are My Sunshine)
Mom/Son Dance: “The Way You Search Tonight,” Tony Bennett
From the photographer, Emily Chidester: As photographers, we’re all biased that our couples are the best… but this couple really is. I shot Meaghan & Jimmie’s end of February wedding at the Enterprise Mill down in Augusta, Georgia, getting no thought what to expect. What I walked into was a day complete of laughter, adore, and stunning moments. Meaghan and Jimmie are two of the most innovative folks I’ve met in a prolonged time. He’s a graphic designer and she’s a fellow photographer, and you felt every inch of that creativity on their wedding day, regardless of the fact that they had been functioning with a tight price range (in which they collected vintage vases that they spray painted a matte gold, had a coffee bar and dessert reception to save income, poured into vintage tea cups, and a popcorn maker (!) just for entertaining). The first amazing thing about this wedding ceremony was Meaghan’s Etsy dress that she purchased for underneath $ 1000 – the gold sequin bust with a flowy tulle bottom practically took my breath away. My preferred point about their day was all the surprises woven into the ceremony and reception. The two Meaghan and Jimmie are worship leaders and knew they desired to incorporate music into their wedding day – beginning with Meaghan’s songs for Jimmie she had produced into a vinyl for his wedding ceremony present, to a shock song Jimmie wrote and carried out for Meaghan following their vows, to a shock duet they sang for all their friends and family collectively (JOHNNYSWIM’s “Take the World”), and last but not least ending with Meaghan’s tribute to her dad throughout their father-daughter dance of a recording of their song, sung by her. Every little thing about their day was great, unique, and entirely 1 of a variety. Just like the two of them.
