From Sofia of My Fancy Wedding – “The title for this elopement editorial is ‘The Cactus & the Wallflower.’ In this wedding we’re all about optimism and energy. Traveling through the gorgeous and historical streets of Lisbon, we present an artistic Brazilian couple in their 4th month anniversary and whose love and joy is really hard to contain!”
“We wanted to show bursting-with-life and enthusiastic colors throughout the various elements and details of the shoot: the youthful crown of flowers in Elaine’s hair, her bubbly dress, the lollipop peeking in her bouquet, Bruno’s dotted bow tie. Their tattoos synchronize perfectly with the created environment, such as the beautiful water-colored wedding cake, the delicious jellybeans in their candy bar, the fun straws in their cups.”
“We really wanted to make them feel in their natural environment and to make this elopement an expression of their inner world as a couple. As such, the photographed locations were hand-picked for them: a traditional Portuguese barbershop to groom Bruno’s characteristically puffy beard and the coffeehouse where he works as a barista to shoot the first part of the elopement. (The grains of coffee were also an important visual element that we thought were core to this shoot.)”
“For the second part of the elopement, what better place to shoot a painter like Elaine that in the romantic and peculiar Lisbon places that inspires her watercolor paintings? The result is this bright and creative elopement, that will leave you smiling for more!”
