Oregon Coast Photography Workshop.
During a recent Donny Zavala photography workshop, participants were asked to not just capture the bride before them; they were asked to peek through the lens as if seeing for the first time. The result is a captivating and raw bridal scene balanced with the beauty of the Oregon coast.
You can incorporate all of the décor you want but sometimes, it’s nature that provides the most beautiful accents, as seen in this trickling waterfall.
The shoot evokes a gritty allure that is unpolished, yet romantic. The bouquet is one example with its assorted pink, red and green blooms, all tied with moody-colored ribbons.
The bride is spellbinding with her fiery red hair and fair skin. She shines like a beacon emerging from this dark cave.
She dons a champagne-colored gown embellished with beading across the bodice and long sleeves. Through the craggy rock and soggy sand, the light fabric of her skirt adds impeccable softness.
On this day, the weather proved challenging with fierce winds and rain. But that didn’t stop the bride from embracing the scene and dancing right along with the elements.
The bride has quite a bit of fun letting her skirt sing the wind’s song, allowing the hem to fly freely through the breeze.
Raindrops collect on the bouquet, fostering a fresh appeal that reminds us of the beauty that abounds with an outdoor setting.

The harsh Pacific Northwest weather brought out the best in every detail of this shoot. Regardless of the cold, wind and rain, the bride channeled her energy and emotion into a truly breathtaking scene on the Oregon coast – one that is natural, unaffected and pure to the core.
