“Nothing gave her so much pleasure as to hear about the world above the sea” – The Little Mermaid, Hans Christian Andersen
From Madison Rose Photography – “I have been enthralled with mermaids since I was a girl, as I imagine many girls have been! My goal for this coastal shoot was to draw inspiration from the original tale of The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen. A mermaid, infatuated with the idea of land, come to shore to find her prince. Just as the story goes, she is left only with a broken heart…”
“The weather only emulated the mood, dark overcast skies emphasizing the rich blues and greys we had chosen for our colour palette. The gown, created for this shoot by Katrina Tuttle Bridal, draped heavily around our bride adding and drowning her in the aura of the water.
Every detail of this shoot was considered carefully from the names (Rosemary meaning ‘dew of the sea’ and Conlan meaning ‘hero’) to the seashell ring holders and tarnished silver flatware. We wanted to create a very coastal feel, a wedding full of details fit for a mermaid – or just a bride who wants to be one!”
