Weddings and travel have always been traditionally linked – dream weddings are followed by dream honeymoons! The idea of celebrating the Big Day in a distant place as a destination wedding has been becoming more and more popular. With this idea, we wanted to stage the celebration itself as a journey.
Wedding planner Tatiana de Weber and photographer Heike Möllers give young love wings with this editorial shoot titled Flyaway. In a setting that is imaginative, the wedding couples goes on the journey of a lifetime – marriage!
The elements of this wedding inspiration shoot are subtle on many levels. The simple black and white backdrop resembles a coloring book which can be filled in with ideas, wishes, and dreams and the transparent chairs allow the foreground to merge with the background.
Tatiana de Weber created an ideal space in which to indulge per passion for design and styling. The small acrylic boxes are painted and represent colorful worlds now open to the young couple. Colorful crystal glasses form a rainbow which shows the way for the bride and groom to their own personal pot of gold. Thoughts are represented by balloons hanging from above giving rise an imaginary horizon. Symbolic of the couple’s desire for their own journey suitcases are used throughout
Playful touches such as the dessert bar and a romantic swing covered with flowers raining from the sky express the lightness and innocence that the beginning of a marriage is. A playfulness that couples want to keep in their hearts forever and guests at the wedding (or in this case- you!) have room for your own interpretations!
