From Bogath Weddings & Events “There is something amazing about The Art Factory in Paterson, NJ. Maybe it’s the name. Or, perhaps it’s the city. Maybe it’s the history of the building…if those walls could talk! The Art Factory is a huge silk factory complex of 17 buildings that has been repurposed to serve as a community space for artists of all types to create. It’s a true oasis of creativity within the city.

I found my inspiration for this wedding editorial within the space itself and chose to style the shoot with industrial details and textures including cement cinder blocks, marble place cards, and antique glass light bulbs. These hard elements were softened by the floral design and Idalia Photography was there to capture it all.”

“The florals we created which included tropical Pink Ice Protea, poppy pods and layers of O’Hara roses, pink Helleborus, wax flower, and lisianthus double whites. Additionally, there was a variety of greenery that included trailing cascades of flowering pink jasmine vine and lush ruscus greens.

The cake was a two-tiered cake with fondant in a gray marble pattern. The design was enhanced with florals and a beautiful laser-cut wood cake topper by Wanderlove Press!”

“The bride wore a modern yet classic wedding dress from Nha Khanh. The dress was chosen because of the beautiful lace detail with modern touches, like the detailed edging and simple bottom. The romantic headpiece and jewelry was a custom design by Foolish Ginger Bridal, and was created with the shoot in mind. The gold and vintage feel combined with the placement in the model’s hair was the perfect way to merge the modern industrial venue with a classic and romantic feel. The groom wore a classic navy suit and details that matched the rest of the shoots’ design.”

“The tablescape centerpiece containers were created by spray painting cinder blocks gold. These were then stacked and staggered on the large over-sized table and filled with tons of florals. One of the more cost-effective aspects of the shoot was created by adding to the intense greenery by placing small potted plants into the holes of the cinderblocks!

We filled the other spaces with beautiful vintage pieces including an antique lamp with a gorgeous key switch. The dishes were chosen for their clean and modern feel. Each table setting was simple with a marble place card that tied to the cake design as well as a fern leaf that reflected the floral designs.”
