There is so much to love in this preppy Southern garden wedding! It was filled to the brim with handmade details, from the farm tables the bride and groom made themselves to the veil made by the bride’s mother. Everything about this summery wedding was personal, romantic, and fun!
The garden reception, historic home, and ceremony on the creek were perfect settings. Chandeliers hung in the garden square and twinkle lights were hidden in the towering magnolias. The light atmosphere made way for a fun reception. The ceremony was on the creek bank of the plantation which overlooked the future home of the couple on the opposing bank. The closest friends and family made up the intimate guests list and wedding party along with the family yellow lab as ring bearer.
The bride wanted a soft, romantic, southern feel so for colors she chose a blush pink, soft blue, oyster, and sage. Flower arrangements were loose and flowy with eucalyptus and blush cabbage roses. The main goal above everything was for everyone to feel at ease and to have a great time. The couple focused on a great band and made the cocktail hour a little longer than usual with corn-hole and a bourbon bar.
There were many DIYs for the wedding: the reception farm tables, oyster shell place holders, invitations, which were made by the upper school art teacher, who designed a black and white sketch of the historical home at Elkington.
