On a cold rainy day one spring, Yana got lost in Milan looking for the train station. She went into a nearby restaurant and asked for directions. Luca, who helped her find the train station, found his way to her heart. Yana was in Milan for only a day en route to the Canary Islands to meet her friends for a holiday, not knowing she would be swept off feet by Luca in her moment to distress!
After several months of romantic dating, endless flights and travels from Italy to Russia, Luca proposed to Yana. They wanted a traditional Italian wedding and as a result decided to have it in a beautiful ancient church on Lake Iseo, Lombardy after speaking with several priests. Not far from the church, they also found the perfect villa for their reception!
Luca and Yana started their wedding preparations one year prior to the event. Luca, being Italian, is passionate about food and wanted to make sure his wedding guests would enjoy the dishes made from only the freshest and best quality ingredients. When choosing the menu the couple made sure all the dishes at their wedding were freshly made and representing the different parts of Italy. Fresh mozzarella came from Naples, prosciutto from Parma and lemons from Amalfi. Freshly caught fish and pasta with lobsters were also brought to the wedding day straight from the Mediterranean Sea.
According to the Italian tradition the groom’s mother gives a bouquet to the bride and the bride chooses one flower and tucks it into the groom’s buttonhole of the jacket which Yana did.
After an amazingly beautiful ceremony in the church, the newlyweds and their guests moved to the villa where they continued the evening aperitif while groom’s brother entertained guests playing on the saxophone. Their guests were then invited to the dinner to the garden which offered a wonderful view of the Lake Iseo. Guests enjoyed the atmosphere and food and after dinner the couple cut their giant cake decorated with fresh peonies, garden roses and orchids!
