Dena and Clark planned a breathtaking and intimate wedding at Haig Point, located on South Carolina’s Daufuskie Island. But this wasn’t any normal destination wedding. With the island only measuring 5 miles long and accessible only by ferry, guests were in for an adventure. The weekend-long event proved to a be a seafood, recreation, and view-filled experience that no one will forget.
Historic Haig Point has the characteristic Southern charm and low-country lifestyle. Its architecture and beachfront are all radiant and simple with a quaint and endearing quality.
Guests got their first glimpse of this glorious affair through a unique invitation suite that featured a map of the location and a neutral color palette – a key detail for the day.
The couple wanted to incorporate a classic wedding feel so they opted for neutral tones throughout the entire day. To start, the bride’s bouquet featured white peonies, cream roses, and other assorted white blooms nestled in a bed of greenery.
Dena and her bridesmaids all got ready the morning of the wedding wearing matching monogrammed robes and Jack Rogers sandals.
Dena looked breathtaking in her strapless lace mermaid fit gown that produced a stunning silhouette. She opted to wear her hair down and curled and complemented the style with statement earrings. For the ceremony, she wore a chapel-length veil.
Her bridesmaids chose various shapes and styles for their dresses, each in a different shade of taupe. The flower girl looked adorable in a petite taupe-colored dress with a fun, puffy skirt.
With a silver pail full of roses in hand, she was ready to lead the bride down the aisle along with a handsome ring bearer, who wore a black suit and carried a cute sign.
Clark chose a black suit and cream-colored tie for his wedding to Dena. His groomsmen all matched impeccably as they made their way down to the ceremony spot.
With an aisle of perfectly placed rose petals and an altar crafted with towering floral arrangements overlooking the water, Dena and Clark came together to say “I do” in front of their friends and family.
After they had their first kiss as husband and wife, they, along with their bridal party, headed down to the beach for some group photos as they soaked up the last few minutes of sunshine.
The low-country flair dripped over into the reception. A long family-style table featured a unique linen and beautiful centerpieces on the porch.
Inside, guests enjoyed the romantic glow of the chandelier as they sat at round tables that featured votives, tall pillar candles, flowers, and bird cages as décor.
The cake was elegant as it gets. Incorporating the couple’s neutral color tones, the cake featured tiers of ruffled fondant in a soft ombre scheme with pastel flowers placed on the sides and top.
Dena and Clark created their own Southern paradise at Haig Point thanks to the warmth of their guests and a beautiful seaside. It was a gorgeous weekend that culminated in the soul-stirring union of two incredible people. Congratulations, Dena and Clark!
