Brittany and Ryan’s wedding in the Outer Banks, captured beautifully by Alicia Lacey Photography, was as darling as it was detailed. Inspired by the North Carolina seaside, a seagrass and foam color palette was used to bring this lovely day to life. And be sure to read the story about Brittany’s veil – it’s a good one!
From the bride, Brittany – “When I dreamt of our wedding day, I wanted it to feel glamorous but fun and effortless at the same time. We were married outside under a beautiful arbor of old doors and eucalyptus in front of a creek. The rain had threatened us all week, but held off until minutes after everyone was inside for cocktail hour!
The reception was a vision in mint and gold with the tables covered in romantic candles and sea grass to tie in the ocean-side feel. After our first dance, Ryan pulled out his guitar and sang ‘Like Jesus Does’ by Eric Church to me in front of all our guests. I hadn’t heard his voice in years, so to hear it again as my husband made me melt! I have never smiled as big and as genuinely as I did that day.
One of my favorite details of the day was my wedding veil. Ironically, I wasn’t originally going to even wear a veil until I came across a picture of one that I loved. I worked one on one with Marie Hunt to conceptualize my vision step by step to ensure it would be perfect. The veil was constructed from a unique French lace with a flower pattern that cannot be found anywhere else in the US. The European netting came from the same vendor used by Duchess Kate Middleton! Marie added this veil to her collection, calling it the ‘Brittany Veil.’”
