Colorful Wedding Inspiration.
There are innumerous songs and sonnets that profess how love colors our world and this styled wedding shoot at Historic Cedar Hill in The Plains, Va., is imaginative with every stitch, script, and sweet. From a romantic beginning to a most colorful conclusion, every step in this playful journey is equal parts daring and dreamy.
At the outset, this shoot is the epitome of classic. A simple white and black invitation suite features a timeless design, a preview to an equally timeless ceremony.
And then subtle hints of color peek out through a ring box and perfume bottle.
The bride carries an all-white bouquet fashioned with greenery and textured white ribbons. She dons sparkling gold heels in two very different, but fabulous, styles.
Her intricate, woven updo is graced by a small floral hairpiece. It’s the ideal accessory for her V-neck ball gown with lace appliques, classic beading, and tulle skirt.
At the ceremony location, she’s greeted by a handsome groom in a crisp, seamless tuxedo. They stand in front of a round floral arch with wooden pews laid out for their guests.
They are the picture of grace as they hold hands and retreat from their scenic ceremony location.
And then the color comes alive! Floral cards and envelopes make a splash for this wedding celebration.
The bride completely transforms her look starting with a single braid touched by floral accents, statement earrings and a bold red lip.
She dons a ball gown with the most lively floral-inspired fabric. And her groom, still in his classic tuxedo, is enamored with his bride’s new look.
They relax on colorful vintage sofas where guests can admire the peaceful Virginia countryside.
With a stroke of ingenuity, the seating chart is on display with a clear painter’s palette, wax stamps, and place cards written in calligraphy.
Floral inspiration abounds in this reception scene. While the menu is presented on a colorful framed print, it’s a mere glimpse in the vibrant arrangement ahead.
The family-style wooden tables with long benches feature runners made of bright flowers, berries and assorted greenery. Place settings include woven placemats, white china, and colorful tea cups alongside bright green napkins.
A lounge area is creatively fashioned from a tall wooden teepee frame with a hanging floral arrangement in its center. Beautiful furniture rests beneath it for a gorgeous way for guests to enjoy the evening.
The wedding cake also employs the story of a love-filled, color-infused world with its cascading design. 4 tiers featuring a black outline of flowers are softly filled in until an entire flower is supplied with color.
The bride and groom celebrate with the help from a few furry friends – bow tie-wearing alpacas, in fact!
A unique wedding accessory is this geometric frame. It features a famous quote from Atticus that reads “he found the colors to paint her when the world had left her grey.”
The fun-loving couple hold it in a display of unity as they don, but what else, rose-colored glasses.
To end this shoot on one final, colorful bang, color bombs explode around the couple, blanketing them in clouds of blue and pink.
Many would agree that falling in love feels much like transitioning from a world of black and white to one teeming with color and vivacity.
