Taylor Swift Is Getting Into the Clothing Game: Singer Set to Launch Her First Line in China

Taylor’;s getting into the clothing game! Taylor Swift‘s team has announced that she’;s launching her very first women’;s clothing line. While, for the moment, the line will exclusively be available in China (through JD.com), it’;s exciting news for her massive fan base nonetheless.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the 25-year-old pop phenom’;s decision to expand her empire comes as a direct response to the rampant counterfeiting problem in China—an issue that has directly affected Swift’;s business, as a whole slew of unauthorized Taylor Swift products are being sold around the country (including guitars featuring the star’;s “signature”).

That’;s why Swift partnered with the aforementioned JD.com, as well as Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.—two of China’;s biggest e-commerce names—so that she can put out her own official products, which (according to CNN) will include dresses, sweatshirts, and tops.

Starting Saturday, Aug. 8, JD.com and Alibaba’;s Tmall will launch the line with $ 60 Taylor Swift T-shirts, complete with official tags attached to them—way in advance of Swift’;s arrival in the country. The “Bad Blood” singer is set to perform two concerts in Shanghai, China, on Nov. 10 and 11.
