With her eyes on a “Serena Slam” (aka winning all 4 majors in one calendar year), the top female tennis player and the brain behind the Serena Williams Signature Statement collection for HSN confessed that when she first considered designing, she wanted to do a wedding dress line. “That was my first real love, but then I was like, ‘Lis8. I’m playing professional tennis. I’ll just do athleticwear,'” Williams, 33, who also rocks a skintight, slitted Elizabeth and James dress in the photos, says.

But she’;s not talking sweats! Williams’; line boasts everything from leather crop tops to camo pants to peekaboo floral skirts, not to mention plenty of sheer pieces for the bold street style star. And that’;s not to mention her colorful capsule collection with Nike.

Of course, that adventurousness should come as no surprise, as the 4-time Olympic gold-medal winner and her sister, Venus, 35, helped to reinvent tennis style. “We brought fashion back to tennis,” Serena, who once wore thigh-high sneaks on the court, shares. “It was great when Chris Evert was around. Tracy Austin had some great designs. But the ’;90s was not a good time.”
