As her April due date approaches, pregnant Kate Middleton joined the royal household at a services honoring the troops who fought in Afghanistan, held at St. Paul’;s Cathedral on Friday, March 13, in London.

The Duchess of Cambridge, 33, now 8 months along, donned a navy blue Beulah “Chiara” wool coat, teamed with a bow-topped hat and suede pumps, for the occasion. Adding even a lot more sophistication to her type, Middleton opted for an intricate (and unusual) updo—a twisted chignon, pinned at the nape.

Middleton was joined by her husband, Prince William, and his brother, Prince Harry, who both appeared dapper in their uniforms, embellished with military regalia. Queen Elizabeth (who led the services), Prince Philip, Prince Charles, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall have been present, also.

The ceremony marked the end of the UK’;s 13-year fight operations in Afghanistan. It was attended not only by the royals, but also by the households of those misplaced in the war, as well as veterans.

Throughout the services the Reverend Dr. David Ison thanked the country’;s commitment to the troops, then prayed for the citizens of Afghanistan and offered this speech: “We don’;t forget people who have been injured in entire body, thoughts, and spirit and we pray for their continued properly-currently being and for people who particularly help them.”

Although the day was a somber one, the royal couple, who are due to welcome their youngster in just above a month, could not support but smile on the methods of the cathedral, as the Duchess’; coat, bundled all around her cradled baby bump, blew around her.

The visual appeal caps off a hectic week for Middleton. The Duchess attended a London support in honor of Commonwealth Day on Monday, visited the Turner Artwork Gallery in Margate on Tuesday, and fan-girled on the London set of Downton Abbey on Thursday.
