With my dry skin, I have always been a fan of foundations that promise a radiant, luminous finish. Now don’t get me wrong. I do not like shimmery, sparkle-infused glow-y foundations…no way! What I love is a slight dewy finish for a fresh, heathy-skin glow. And that’s exactly what I get with the new COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation!

COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation comes in a 1 oz glass bottle with a pump (which is always nice!) The formula has a lightweight creamy texture that applies and blends easily, whether applied with your fingertips or foundation brush. Most days, I wear this foundation over my daytime primer/moisturizer with SPF and the combo works perfectly for my dry skin. It doesn’t even feel like I’m wearing an extra layer on my face!
I got the COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation in the shade Medium Beige (842) which turned out to a great match for my light-medium, NC-25 ish skintone. I’d say the coverage is light to medium with a soft, satiny matte finish. It evens out my skin beautifully while providing good enough coverage for my dark spots, blemishes and slight redness for a fresh, natural look. There is no noticeable shimmer or sparkle in the formula. It just adds a subtle glow to my skin without any unwanted shine, which I think makes it suitable for most skin types (except for those who prefer a completely all-day matte finish).
The coverage is totally build-able, so you can easily dab a little more on the areas that need more coverage and it works like a charm. I like that it looks very natural and never feels cakey or makeup-y on the skin which is especially great for these hot summer months. As for the longevity, the coverage lasts well for a good 7 – 9 hours (with a primer) and doesn’t settle into my pores and fine lines. It also doesn’t seem to aggravate my acne which is obviously a big plus for me!
I have also read a couple of reviews stating that COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation is a good (if not perfect) drugstore dupe for Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. Well, I hope that’s true because I have always wanted to try the Armani foundation!
