New from Benefit Cosmetics, they’re real! BIG sexy eye kit is an eyeshadow palette with 3 perfectly paired neutral eyeshadow duos for a total of 6 shades. This kit comes with a custom ShadowBlender, which is a specially designed rounded sponge applicator that helps create a complete eyeshadow look in one simple sweep.
The 3 eyeshadow duos included in the kit are:
Beyond nude: champagne (satin) & cappuccino (soft matte)
Naughty neutral: soft pink (satin) & rosy brown (satin)
Bombshell brown: taupe (soft matte) & sable brown (soft matte)
You can’t go wrong with any of the colors in the palette, they are all neutral with a satin or soft matte finish, which is right up my alley! The shadows are really smooth with a pretty good color payoff and there’s little to no fallout. Although not super pigmented, these are great for a subtle, everyday natural look. The formula is also easy to build up and lasts for a good 7-9 hours (with a primer) without creasing.
So, the idea is to slide the custom ShadowBlender across the eyeshadow duo, getting both the lighter and the darker color, and then sweep it across your lids to create an easy eyeshadow look. Benefit suggests to position the custom Shadowblender in the inner corner of your eye with the darker shade along lashline. But I prefer applying the deeper shade in the crease to create definition and the lighter shade along my lashline. The good thing is that every shade in this neutral eyeshadow palette can work both ways!
Honestly, I have never been a fan of sponge eyeshadow applicators and even though the one included in this kit is very easy-to-use, I prefer to use my usual eyeshadow brushes to apply the shadows more precisely or mix the shades any way I’d like and then blend. However, if I am in a rush and just need to do a super quick & simple look, the ShadowBlender will definitely come in handy!
